Pakistan PM Imran Khan today (24th July 2019) acknowledged that terrorists in Pakistan carried out attacks in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). Imran Khan went on to claim that he now has the support of the Pakistani army for disarming them.

Speaking at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington on Tuesday (23rd July 2019), Mr. Imran Khan claimed that the security forces and Pakistani army are not supporting the terrorist groups, and instead supported an oppressive option. Imran Khan agreed that the Pak-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was operating against India.

After One Month Launch, LightSail 2 Successfully Deploys Solar Sail
On Tuesday (23rd July 2019), a new spacecraft's solar sail successfully deployed one month after it launches, as it journeys around the earth carrying a small satellite. LightSail-2, as the spacecraft is called, will saddle the momentum of packets of light energy known as photons.

The LightSail 2 is based on data sent back to Earth from the spacecraft. The organization added that upcoming photographs would confirm the event later in the day. LightSail 2 solar sail has an area of 32 square meters. As per LightSail 2 role in the future, Nye says it could one day be employed to send robotic missions beyond our solar system.

Biswabhusan Harichandan Takes Oath as AP Governor
On today (24th July 2019), Biswabhusan Harichandan age 85, took oath as the new Governor of Andhra Pradesh state. Acting Chief Justice of AP High Court Justice C. Praveen Kumar managed the oath of office to the Governor at a function at the temporary Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada. The premises that were previously used as the CM Camp Office has been converted into the Raj Bhavan for the new Governor Mr. Harichandan.

Biswabhusan is the 2nd Governor and the 1st one to be appointed exclusively for the state after the bifurcation in June 2014. Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his Cabinet legislators, colleagues, Chief Secretary L. V. Subrahmanyam, and senior bureaucrats attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Harichandan began his career as a lawyer in the Odisha High Court in 1961 and then joined Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) in 1971. Later, he joined the BJP in 1980 when it was founded and became the president of the Odisha state unit. Biswabhusan also served in the BJP national executive.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 22nd July 2019. The bill seeks to replace the Medical Council of India with a new body - NMC. The most talked-about point of the new bill is that it does away with the NEET PG exam, which up until now has been the eligibility-cum-entrance test for admission to PG broad-specialty medical courses in medical institutions.

NEET UG will continue to be the entrance test for MBBS and BDS courses and NEET SS will continue to be the entrance exam for admission to Post Graduate Super-Specialty courses. However, the NEET PG exam is conducted for admission to PG medical courses. Instead of a separate entrance exam, the exit exam will be conducted in the final year of MBBS will be called National Exit Test (NEXT).
