United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived Monday (24th June 2019) in Saudi Arabia for talks on coordinating with the close ally amid mounting tensions with Iran. An United States officials said, that the Mike Pompeo is expected to meet in the Red Sea city of Jeddah with King Salman and the crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, before flying for talks in the UAE.

Both Emirati and Saudi leaders advocate a tough United States approach against regional rival Iran, which last week shot down an unmanned United States drone, prompting US President Donald Trump to order a US military strike before he changing his mind.

The Winner of 'World's Ugliest Dog Contest 2019'
The winner of the World's Ugliest Dog Contest 2019 is a dog of "unknown breeding" with an "extremely round body" and named Scamp the Tramp. The New York Times (NYT) describes Scamp as a dog with "No teeth, short stubby legs, and beady eyes". All features that helped him to his big win on Friday (22nd June 2019) at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California.

To become the world's ugliest dog contest 2019, Scamp beat 18 other dogs. As the winner, Scamp received a large trophy and a cash prize of $1500 and an appearance on the today show.

In An Attempt To Set Record, Saplings Distributed To 20,000 Pune Students
On Sunday (23rd June 2019), 20,000 students have distributed saplings at Savitri Phule Pune University (SPPU) in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest distribution of saplings. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis was the chief guest in the event. Along with Cheif Minister, Pune Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil was also present at the event.

The event was organized at a playground near the university. Students wore the tri-color T-shirts and cap during the event and formed the Indian National Flag.

Bangladesh vs Afghanistan: On today (24th June 2019, Monday), a match between Bangladesh vs Afghanistan at the Rose Bowl, Southampton. The toss was won by Afghanistan and elected to field first. Afghanistan played 6 matches, lost all the 6 matches and placed the bottom of the table and Bangladesh played 6 matches and won 2 and lost 3 and no result 1. Bangladesh was led by Mashrafe Mortaza and Afghanistan was led by Gulbadin Naib.

In the last match between Pakistan vs South Africa (Match 30) at Lord's, London. Pakistan won the toss and opt to bat. In the first half Pakistan scored 308/7 (50.0) while chasing the decent target, South Africa was scored 259/9 (50.0). With this loss, South Africa was knocked out in the ICC World Cup 2019 at first round itself.  The player of the match was given to Haris Sohail who scored 89 (59), 9 fours and 3 six's.

On Sunday (23rd June 2019), an Indian Women's Hockey team won the FIH Women's Series Finals Hiroshima 2019 after defeating hosts Japan by 3-1 in the Final which is held at the Hiroshima Hockey Stadium. Indian Women's Hockey team Captain Rani Rampal gave India to lead in the third min before Gurjit Kaur drag-flicker struck two times (45th min and 60th min) late in the match to set up the win.

Kanon Mori scored the own goal for Japan in the 11th min. The World No. 9 Indian women's team had already qualified for the FIH Olympic Qualifiers 2019 on Saturday (22nd June 2019) after securing a place in the Final of the FIH Series competition.
