North Korea Fired Two Missiles
South Korea's military said, on Thursday (09th May 2019) North Korea has fired 2 missile, as a senior United States official is visiting to discuss ways to break the nuclear deadlock. The South's Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement, that the North Korea fired unidentified projectiles eastward from Sino-ri in North Pyongan province. It was confirmed later that the projectiles might have been missiles. 

This was Pyongyang's 2nd launch in less than a week. Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff said, that the North Korea's fired what appeared to be 2 short range missiles, adding they flew eastwards for 270 km and 420 km (170 miles and 260 miles) and the South Korean and United States militaries were jointly analyzing them.

Top Court Rejects Plea Opposing Release of Convicts in Rajiv Gandhi Case
On Today (May 9, 2019, Thursday), the Supreme Court dismissed the petitions of families of those killed along with former PM Rajiv Gandhi in 1991, objecting to the Tamilnadu government's 2014 decision to release 7 convicts in the case.

A Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said, that all features were covered in the earlier constitution bench verdict in the case and therefore nothing survives in the case. In 2014, J. Jayalalithaa leading government had decided to release 7 convicts in the case. Former PM Rajiv Gandhi was massacre by a suicide bomber in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu on 21st May 1991.

J&K Government to Build 16 Viewing Points On Dal Lake
The Jammu and Kashmir government is building 16 viewing points on Dal Lake in Srinagar for the convenience of tourists. N. A. Wani, Director Kashmir Tourism said, that there are around sixteen points were build that we call as "ghats" and that are all being developed with a blend of modern and traditional architecture. 

On April, it was reported that effort to attract tourists & restore the sheen of the famous island Char Chinari which is located at the Dal Lake, the tourism authorities will going to planting 2 new Chinar trees on the island.

Karnataka Gives Rs. 10 Cr Help to Cyclone 'Fani' Hit Odisha
An official statement said today (9th May 2019), the Karnataka government has contributed Rs. 10 cr to cyclone 'Fani' hit Odisha state for relief assistance to the affected people. Chief Minister's Office said in the statement, that the amount is being credited to the bank account of the Odisha CM Relief Fund in Bhubaneshwar. 

In Odisha, 41 people were died due to Cyclone Fani. It made landfall in the state on 3rd May 2019 as a Category 4 storm, leaving behind a trail of disaster in the coastal areas. Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy condoled the deaths and wished the speedy restoration of normal life.

Second World War: Time of Remembrance and Reconciliation
Every year 8th May & 9th May has been organizing, time to remembrance and reconciliation for those who lost their lives during the 2nd world war.

By resolution 59/26 of 22nd November 2004, the United Nation General Assembly declared 8th & 9th May as a time of remembrance and reconciliation and, while recognizing that member states may have individual days of liberation, commemoration and victory, invited all Member States, Non- Governmental and organizations of the UN System to observe annually either 1 or 2 of these days in an appropriate manner to pay a tribute to all victims of 2nd World War.
