SpaceX Postpones Launch of Its 1st 'Starlink' Internet Serving Satellites
SpaceX was postponed a launch of 60 satellites into low Earth orbit which was scheduled for 16th May 2019, Thursday night. It may be possibly until next week, citing a need for major software updates. From Cape Canaveral, the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch was to be the 1st of potentially 1000 in it's 'Starlink' project to beam broadband internet across the planet.

The satellites launch, which was initially envisaged for Wednesday (15th May 2019), was first delayed because of high winds. Each of the satellites weighs just 227 kg and was built in-house in Redmond, which located near Seattle.

To Build Human Lunar Landers, NASA Selects 11 US Firms
The United States space agency NASA has selected 11 companies including Elon Musk's SpaceX, Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin to develop prototypes of human landers for its Artemis lunar exploration programme. NASA has aims to put the 1st woman on the Moon's south pole by 2024 and establish stable missions by 2028.

Apart from SpaceX and Blue Origin, other selected companies are Lockheed Martin, Sierra Nevada Corporation and Boeing among others. The total award amount for all companies is $45.5 million.

Indian Mountaineer Dies In Nepal, 3rd in As Many Days
An official said on Friday (17th May 2019), An Indian climber has died in Nepal while descending the summit of Mount Makalu during an expedition to the world's 5th highest mountain, days after 2 mountaineers from the country dies in the Himalayan nation. An Nepal Tourism Ministry official Mira Acharya said, on Thursday (16th May 2019) night, Narayan Singh died at camp-IV, while climbing down from the 8485 mtr summit.

2 Indian climbers from West Bengal Kuntal Karar (46) and Biplab Baidya (48) died in Nepal on Wednesday (15th May 2019) due to high altitude sickness near the summit of Mount Kanchenjunga, the world's 3rd tallest peak. Another climber from Chile is missing from above Camp-4 of Mount Kanchenjunga since Wednesday (May 15, 2019) evening.

Irfan Pathan became the first Indian player to enroll himself for the player's draft of CPL 2019 (Caribbean Premier League 2019), to be held from 4th September 2019 to 12th October 2019. If picked by any right, Irfan Pathan will create a history as no Indian player has ever played in an overseas T20s league before.

According to the Caribbean Premier League official website, a record 536 players from 20 overseas have been registered themselves for the players draft this time.

World Telecommunication and Information Society Day
Every year on 17th May, the World Telecommunication Day and Information Society Day (WTISD) is celebrated around the world. The day was normally called as World Telecommunications Day, but in November 2005, the World Summit on the Information Society called upon the United Nation General Assembly to declare 17th May as World Information Society Day.

From onward, the day came to be called as World Telecommunication and Information Society Day after 2005. This 2019, it marks 50 Years of World Communication Day which was first celebrated in 1969. The World Telecommunication and Information Society Day raises global awareness about the use of Internet and Information and also Communications Technologies.

On May 17, the World Hypertension Day has been observed. On this day, the main aim is to spread awareness about high blood pressure, a condition which can lead to dangerous effects if not dealt properly.

For elementary, hypertension is another name for high blood pressure, where blood pressure in the arteries is continues to rise. We have 4 stages of high blood pressure/ hypertension.

1. Known as Pre-Hypertension - 120/80 to 139/89.
2. Known as Mild Hypertension - 140/90 to 159/99.
3. Known as Moderate Hypertension - 160/100 to 179/109.
4. Known as Severe Hypertension - 180/110 or Higher.

Hypertension/ blood pressure is a major cause of a range of health problems such as heart attacks, strokes, kidney disease and also contribute to dementia.
