Matt Everard aged 46, from Essex, UK set a speed of 119.583 kmph on a tuk tuk (Auto-rickshaws ) at Elvington Airfield and says he is "over the moon" at his achievement. Everard had been set a target of 110 kmph by Guinness World Records. Though tuk tuk's and auto-rickshaws are common in Thailand and India and some other countries, they are not as readily available in the United Kingdom. 

Mr. Everard bought the tuk tuk vehicle on eBay after coming home from a "drunken night out". After got the tuk tuk for 3000 pounds, he modified it by swapping 350cc engine with a 1300cc fuel injected Daihatsu power plant and done this achievement.

Since record began, the United States scientists have detected the highest level of planet warming carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere, sounding a new alarm over the ruthless rise of man made green house gas emissions. In Hawaii, the Mauna Loa Observatory has tracked atmospheric CO2 levels since the late 1950s and on Saturday (11th May 2019) morning its detected 415.26 ppm (parts per million). 

It was the first time on record that the observatory measured a daily baseline above 415 ppm. The last time, Earth's atmosphere contained this much CO2 was more than 3 million years ago.

DRDO Successfully Conducts 'Abhyas' Flight Test
On Monday (13th May 2019), the DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) successfully conducted the flight test of 'Abhyas' which is a high speed expendable aerial target and it offers a realistic threat scenario for practice of weapon systems. In Chandipur, Odisha, the flight test of 'Abhyas' was conducted at the Interim Test Range. 

An official said, the Abhyas was tracked by various electro-optic systems and radars and proved it's performance in fully autonomous way point navigation mode. 'Abhyas' is designed for autonomous flying with the help of an autopilot and its performance of the system was as per simulations carried out and it demonstrated the capability of 'Abhyas' to meet the mission wanted for a cost effective HEAT.

For Officer Entry, Indian Navy Introduces Entrance Test
The Indian Navy has introduced Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) for Officer entry. The INET will be a new entrance scheme, graduates will be eligible for that. The INET will be held along with Combined Defence Services exam, National Defence Academy, Naval Academy exam and University Entry Scheme.

National Defence Academy and Naval Academy exam and Combined Defence Services exam are conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). While UPSC conducts the written exam, the interviews are conducted by the SSB (Services Selection Board). INET (Officers) shall be conducted 2 times in a year from September 2019 onward.

IPL 2019: Mumbai Indians Won By 1 Runs
Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday (12th May 2019). CSK lost the final by 1 run to Mumbai Indians. Despite MS Dhoni getting run out for 2 in chase of 150, Chennai Super Kings were cruising but Lasith Malinga's brilliant final over sealed the deal for MI and restrict CSK by 9 runs in last over.

The winner (MI) of the IPL 2019 will get a prize money of Rs 20 crore. As per the norm, 50% of the prize money will go to the franchise and rest being distributed among the MI players. The runner-up (CSK) will receive Rs 12.5 crore. The sides finishing 3rd and 4th will receive Rs 8.75 crore.

GS Lakshmi Becomes India's First Female ICC Match Referee
GS Lakshmi, Former India cricketer became's the first female match referee to be added into the ICC's (International Cricket Council) International Panel of Match Referees. Lakshmi aged 51, officiated her first match in women's domestic cricket in 2008-2009 and she has supervised 3 women's ODI and 3 T20 Internationals.

Then following Australian Claire Polosak who became the first female umpire to officiate a men's One Day International on 27th April between Namibia and Oman, GS Lakshmi will become eligible to referee for international matches with immediate effect.
