At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Automotive Industry titan, Sergio Marchionne has been declared as the winner of World Car Person of the Year. At the time of his passing in July Mr. Marchionne was CEO, CNH Industrial; Chairman and CEO, Ferrari and FCA; Chairman. In June 2004, Selected as CEO of Fiat SpA, Marchionne took the Italian manufacturer from brink of bankruptcy to New York Stock Exchange.

Marchionne who was described himself as a corporate fixer, was Fiat's 5th CEO in less than 2 years when he took over. He was replaced Giuseppe Morchio, who quit after the billionaire Umberto Agnelli family refused to give him the joint title of chairman and CEO when then Chairman Agnelli died of cancer.

Israel's First Spacecraft to Moon Sends a Selfie
Mission chiefs said on Tuesday (5th March 2019), An Israeli spacecraft on it's maiden mission to the moon has sent it's first selfie to Earth. The project's lead partners said in a statement, that the image showing a part of the Beresheet spacecraft along with Earth in the background was beamed to a mission control in Yehud, Israel 37,600 km away.

On 22nd February 2019, the NGO Space-IL, partners and state owned Israel Aerospace Industries, launched the unmanned Beresheet Hebrew for Genesis from Cape Canaveral in Florida. The 585 km craft took off atop a Falcon-9 rocket from the private US based SpaceX company of entrepreneur Elon Musk. The trip was scheduled to last 7 weeks with the Beresheet due to touch down on 11th April 2019. So far, only Russia, China and US have made the 384,000 km journey and landed on the moon.

A top official has said, the United Nation chief Antonio Guterres has not spoken with PM Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan, but he discussed with the officials from Pakistan and India about the heightened tensions arising after the Pulwama terror attack.

Tensions increased between India and Pakistan in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack in Kashmir which were killed 40 Indian CRPF personnel and was claimed by Pakistan based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). After the suicide attack, on February 26, India carried out air strikes against the biggest training JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammad) camp in Balakot in Pakistan. In this operation, a very large number of JeM terrorists, senior commanders, trainers and groups of terrorists who were being trained for a suicide attacks were killed.

On Tuesday (6th March 2019), PM Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan Dhan Yojna (PM-SYM). The Ministry Of Labour & Employment said in a press release, that the PM-SYM pension scheme for unorganized workers is being implemented for an estimated 42 crore workers in the un-organized sector as constituting around 85% of total labour force of the country.

PM-SYM (Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan Dhan Yojna) has been made effective since 15th February 2019 in all the states. It is a central sector scheme open to unorganized workers, whose monthly income is below Rs. 15,000 and who have an savings bank account as well as Aadhar Number. The minimum age for joining the PM-SYM scheme is 18 years and the maximum age is 40 years.

Two days after he resigned from the Congress, A Karnataka lawmaker joined the BJP today (6th March 2019). Umesh Jadhav joined the BJP in Kalaburagi district before PM Modi's address at the rally there. Karnataka BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa welcomed Jadhav into the party.

After joined, Mr Jadhav said before PM Modi arrived on the stage, "I am happy and proud joining BJP". In the upcoming national election, Umesh Jadhav is likely to be the BJP's candidate for the Kalaburagi seat. If the opportunist politician is fielded from Kalaburagi, Jadhav will take on Congress veteran Mallikarjun Kharge, a 9 time legislator and 2 term Lok Sabha member who has never tasted electoral defeat.

For Delhi, AAP To Launch Movement For Full Statehood
From 10th March 2019, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will launch it's full statehood movement for Delhi. Speaking to the media on Tuesday (5th March 2019), AAP leader Gopal Rai said the party had decided to launch the movement from 1st March, but now it will start from 10th March with 1000 teams across the city.

He also said, that the party chief and CM Arvind Kejriwal will not go on a fast on the issue. For the demand of full statehood for Delhi, CM Arvind Kejriwal had earlier said, he will go on an indefinite hunger strike from 1st March 2019. After a no from the Congress, that the party will also gear up for the Lok Sabha campaign, Mr Rai said.

Matua Matriarch Binapani Devi's Last Rites to be Held Today (6th March 2019)
The last rites of Matua community matriarch Binapani Devi (Boro Ma), will be held today (6th March 2019, Wednesday) at Thakurnagar in North 24 Parganas district, where Binapani Devi body would shortly arrive from Kolkata.

On Tuesday (5th March 2019), the centurion Binapani Devi passed away at the capital's state run hospital evening after prolonged illness. She was survived by her younger son Manjul Krishna Thakur. The body was taken in a flower bedecked hearse from S.S.K.M. Hospital in presence of Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Bala Thakur and West Bengal (WB) minister Jyotipriyo Mallick, a family member of Boro Ma.

A family member said, we started with her body at around 8 am and reached Thakurnagar at 11 am and Lakhs of followers have gathered at the spot to see the Binapani Devi beloved Boroma for the last time.

India Registered 500 ODIs Wins
On Tuesday (5th March 2019), Team India reached a major landmark after got a thrilling victory against Australia in the 2nd ODI in Nagpur. India successfully defended 250 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) stadium to register it's 500th win in ODIs (One Day Internationals). It's the 2nd team to reach this achievement after Australia who won 558 ODIs matches.

To reach this landmark, India has taken 45 years to win 500 ODIs after playing its first game on 13th July 1974 in the format against England at Leeds in the Prudential Trophy. The India has played 963 ODIs till date. India's first ODI win had come under the captaincy of Srinivas Venkataraghavan against East Africa in the inaugural Cricket World Cup on 11th June at 1975 at Leeds. The 100th win was registered against team South Africa in 1993 while the remaining 4 milestone wins came in the new millennium.
