China to Raise Defence Spending By 7.5%, Lower than 2018
On Tuesday (05th March 2019), China announced a 7.5% increase in military spending in 2019 which is lower than last year of 2018 as they faces an economic slowdown, but still they make Asian neighbours nervous. It working to provide the 2 million strong PLA (People's Liberation Army) with state of the art hardware, aircraft carriers, spending heavily on stealth warplanes and other weaponry.

According to a government report presented at the start of the annual meeting of the NPC (National People's Congress), In 2019, the government will spend 1.19 trillion yuan on defence, after increased it's outlay by 8.1% to 1.11 trillion yuan in 2018.

The Nobel Foundation said on Tuesday (5th March 2019), after a sex scandal forced a postponement of last year's prize, the Swedish academy will allowed to award the 2018 & 2019 Nobel Prize for literature this year. In the statement said, it will be again possible to the Nobel prize award in literature and this autumn laureates for both 2018 & 2019 year will be selected. 

After a string of sexual false allegations against the husband of one of the members effectively paralyzed the literary body, the Nobel Foundation last year (2018) stopped the Academy from awarding the prize.

In Ahmedabad, PM Modi Launches National Common Mobility Card
Prime Minister Modi on Monday (4th March 2019) inaugurated and launches a payment card which can be used to pay transport charges across the country. The payment card was called as NCMC (National Common Mobility Card), it is the country's first indigenous developed payment system for transport.

The NCMC is a bank issued credit, prepaid or debit card which can be used for payments for all transport facilities including bus, metro, suburban railways, parking, toll, retail and smart city. The stored amount on card which supports the offline transaction across all travel needs with minimal financial risk to involved stakeholders. PM was launched the NCMC while inaugurating the 1st phase of the Ahmedabad metro train service yesterday (4th March 2019).

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh Wrestling Federation of India President said, that the UWW (United World Wrestling's) directive to international federations, asking them to snap communication with India, might affect the nation's chances of hosting the JAC (Junior Asian Championships) in July.

On Tuesday (March 5th, 2019), Indian Skipper Virat Kohli scored his 40th ODI century off just 107 balls to lift India after early wickets in the 2nd ODI against Australia at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur. The Indian captain smashed 9 boundaries to reach the 100, when India were 225/6 in 43.1 overs.

After opting to bowl, Australia bowlers were struck in regular intervals and looked to dominate the proceedings. However, Virat Kohli headed the resistance for the men in blue and lifted them to a respectable position. It was Kholi's 7th ODI hundred against Australia. At the end of the first innings, India were all out for 250 (48.2 Ovrs).
