From 1st April, US To Begin Accepting New H-1B Visa Petitions
The media reported, the USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) would start accepting new H-1B visa petitions for the fiscal year 2020 starting 1st April onward. The American Bazaar daily reported on Monday (18th March 2019), the employment start date for these visas would be 1st October. Like previous years, the regular visa cap limit for H-1B this year remains at 65,000.

Therefore, another 20,000 petitioners who does not have a Master's or a higher degree from a United States university, will also get the visas. According to many lawyers, this year may be extraordinary, because of the continued supervision as well as some subtle rule changes announced earlier this year. In January 2020, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services introduced a change in order in which allocations would be counted.

Mi-Pay Launched in India
Mi-Pay payments app has been launched in India. On Tuesday (19th March 2019) Xiaomi at the Redmi Go launch event launched the UPI (Unified Payments Interface) based payments app in the country. The company emphasized it has complied with data localisation requirements, and the Mi-Pay app has been approved by the NPCI (National Payments Council of India). 

Mi-Pay app payment service provider by the ICICI Bank. Mi Pay has been integrated within the native Contacts, SMS, App Vault, and Camera scanner apps. Apart from money transfer, the Unified Payments Interface-based Mi Pay app also supports bill payments and recharges.

Philem Rohan Singh aged 24 who was a Manipur cyclist, completed a 9 day cycling journey from Jammu to Greater Noida in a bid to raise funds for Pulwama martyrsPhilem Rohan Singh cycling tour was flagged off by the senior IPS officer, Basant Rath whereas, the complimentary was done by VC Sharada University GR C Reddy and Executive Director Prashant Gupta. 

Rohan said, this bi-cycle ride is a contribution and acknowledgement ride to the Pulwama attack victims and the attack that happened recently (February 14, 2019) and I want to share a message by riding from here to Delhi to raise funds for the soldier. In this journey, apart from Jammu and Kashmir, he cycled through Punjab, Himachal Pradesh (HP), UT of Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh (UP).

Mohammad Adnan who was born in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh and a PhD student at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-Delhi), has been selected to take part in the prestigious Lindau Nobel Laureate meeting in Germany. Mohammad Adnan will get an opportunity to interact with over 30 gift winners from the field of science for a week. 

The Lindau meeting will be held from 30th June 2019 to 5th July 2019. Adnan was selected for his research on the emission properties of organic and inorganic materials. The researcher (Mohammad Adnan) from the Department of Physics at IIT-Delhi is working on high intensity ultra fast light matter interaction of special kind of metal organic framework which is useful for advance Optoelectronics or Optronics device.

For New Tax Rates For Housing Units, GST Council Approves Transition Plan
On Tuesday (March 19th, 2019), The Revenue Secretary A B Pandey said, that the all powerful GST Council approved a transition plan for the implementation of new tax structure for housing units. He also told reporters, the reasonable time for transition will be given to developers in consultation with states. The meeting deliberated on the transition provision and the related issues for implementation of lower Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates for the real estate sector. 

On 24th February, the Council had in it's last meeting, lowered tax rates for under construction flats in affordable category to 1%. GST rate on other categories was reduced to 5% and its effective from 1st April 2019. Pandey said, that the Goods and Services Tax rates for new projects will be mandatory from 1st April.
