A fresh proposal by the UK, France and US has been submitted at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to assign Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.

If the proposal is passed, then the Pakistan based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar will get the tag of being a UN designated global terrorist, which turns him to asset freeze, global travel ban and arms embargo.

Samjhauta Express Suspended Indefinitely By Pakistan
The Authorities in Islamabad, Pakistan have indefinitely suspended the Samjhauta Express which is a decades old train service between India and Pakistan. A Pakistan's foreign office said, that the train service with India has been suspended till further notice. The move by Islamabad, Pakistan comes among the great tension between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack. 

Bilateral ties between the both countries have taken a severe beating after Pakistan based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) carried out it's latest terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama in which more than 40 CRPF soldiers were killed.

With the results in from most states, Buhari has a lead of more than 3 million votes over his competitor Atiku Abubakar. Mr. Abubakar's from PDP (People's Democratic Party) has called for a halt in the count, accused irregularities. Violence and Delays destruction the run up to the vote, but no independent observer has said, that there was electoral fraud. 

Mr. Buhari who was a member of the governing APC (All Progressives Congress) party is seeking a 2nd term in office. So far All Progressives Congress has 19 states while the People's Democratic Party has 16+ the capital Abuja. The candidate who got most votes will be declared as the winner as long as they have at least 25% of the votes in 24+ of the 36 states.

The Navy, Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Army are today (Feb 28, 2019) expected to brief the press for the first time amid tension between India and Pakistan. The 3 service chiefs met with the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on this morning, a day after several discussions with PM Narendra Modi.

The explanation comes a day after an Indian Air Force pilot was taken captive by the Pakistan, after aerial combat between Indian and Pakistani fighter planes for the first time in 48 years. The military chiefs were also present at the another high level meeting with Ajit Doval National Security Adviser, Home secretary, the chiefs of the Intelligence Bureau, Research and Analysis Win (RAW) and the the Foreign Secretary.

On Thursday (28th February 2019), Amid the rising tensions between India and Pakistan the newly-appointed Mumbai Police Commissioner "Sanjay Barve" assured the city was safe, but asked citizens to remain alert. 

Mr Barve who was a 1987 batch of IPS officer has took over the top post in the metropolis from Subodh Kumar Jaiswal and also been appointed Maharashtra's Director General of Police.

After Glenn Maxwell hit's a boundary off Siddharth Kaul's over to take Australia to reach the winning line in 2nd T20 at Bengaluru. Also he helped take the 1st series defeat on Virat Kohli as captain at home across formats. 

With Australia winning by 3 wickets in the 1st T20I in Vizag and now won by 7 wickets in Bengaluru on Wednesday (27th February 2019) and clinch the series by 2-0, they also picked up their 1st T20I series win since 2017-18. This is the Australia's first ever T20I International series win against India at home or away.

On Wednesday (27th Feb 2019), at National Cricket Stadium in St. Georgia's, Grenada, it was raining sixes during the 4th ODI between England and West Indies (WI). With a total of 807 runs scored in that match along with 46 sixes were struck by batsmen from both teams. 

While Jos Buttler hammered the most number of sixes for the visitors and Chris Gayle did the same for the home country. Buttler scored 150 runs in 77 balls (12 sixes, 13 fours) with strike rate of 194.81. Finally, England reached 418/6 in 50 overs. This is the 5th time England have scored 400+ total in ODIs since the 2015 World Cup. 

In the 2nd innings, West Indie's Chris Gayle ensured that the party does not stop, he hammered 14 sixes in the chase and scored his fastest ton in just 51 balls, and surpassed the 10,000 run mark. Finally, West Indies were all out for 389 and England picked up a match win by 29 run to take a lead by 2-1 in the series.

National Science Day


National Science Day
Every year on 28th February is a National Science Day which is celebrated across India. On this day, Famous Indian scientist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman (CV Raman) discovered the Raman Effect in 1928. For his discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. 

In honour of his discovery and mark of tribute to the scientist, on 28th February 1987, National Science Day was marked for the 1st time. Over 32 years, every February 28, has been celebrated as a remembrance of Sir CV Raman's contribution to science and the Indian scientific community.
