112: India's New All In One Emergency Helpline Number
Today (19th February 2019), A single emergency helpline number "112" was launched in 16 states and Union Territories. This emergency services were earlier launched in Nagaland and Himachal Pradesh. The Emergency Helpline Number 112 would provide immediate assistance to services like fire (101), police (100), health (108), child protection and women safety (1090).

The emergency number will step by step extended to other states as well. The single number for emergency services is likely similar to ''911'' in the US. Rajnath Singh Home Minister of India, while launching the emergency number "112" and said, that the central government is committed to the safety of citizens, particularly women for whom laws were changed to ensure the guilty is punished in a time bound manner.

Today (19 Feb 2019), Union Minister for Commerce Suresh Prabhu, confirmed on the proposed changes in a series of tweets. However, the turnover limit for an company to be considered a start-ups has been hiked by 4 times to Rs. 100 crore from Rs. 25 crore.

The Indian government has currently offers 9 types of small saving schemes, ranging from fixed deposit (FD) to Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS) and Sukanya SamriddhiAccording to a Ministry of Finance statement dated 31st December, for the current quarter which is ending on 31st March 2019, investment in post office small savings schemes fetches returns to the tune of 4% to 8.7%. 

Now, the interest rates is applicable to post office saving schemes are reviewed on a quarterly basis. In this current quarter, the interest rates on time deposit accounts have been revised and those will be applicable to other savings schemes kept changed.

Today (19th February 2019, Tuesday), Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, expanded his 2 member Cabinet with induction of 10 members. There are 6 new faces such as Koppula Eashwar, S Niranjan Reddy, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Ch Malla Reddy and V Srinivas Goud found berth in the Council of Ministers. 

Talasani Srinivas Yadav, A Indrakaran Reddy, Etela Rajender and G Jagadish Reddy who were the part of the Cabinet in Chandrasekhar Rao's previous term, returned as ministers. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan managed them the oath of office and secrecy at Raj Bhavan, in the presence of the CM, taking the Cabinet size to 12 (Twelve). Mr Chandrasekhar Rao's first Cabinet does not have any woman minister either.

PM Narendra Modi was in his constituency, Varanasi, today (19th Feb 2019) to flag off the world's first diesel to electric locomotive engine train. This project was completed by the Diesel Locomotives works in record time. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took interested and went around the factory and inspected the electronic engine from inside.

The conversion of diesel locomotive engine into an electronic one was a landmark achievement of the Indian Railways. The high profile project of the Indian Railways was part of it;s Mission 100% de-carbonization and electrification agenda. The Railways official said, that the project work was starts in December 2017 and from conceptualizing to building the electric locomotive was carried out in just 69 days.
