12 Years On, NASA Declares Mars Rover Officially Dead
During 14 years of brave exploration across Mars and its advanced human knowledge by confirming that water once flowed on the red planet. Since the US space agency lost a contact during a dust storm in June last year, the NASA's robot has been missing and was declared officially dead on Wednesday (13th February 2019), ending one of the most rewarding missions in the history of space exploration.

The NASAs Opportunity Rover has unable to recharge it's batteries, it left hundreds of messages from Earth unanswered over the months and NASA said it made it's last attempt at contact on 12th February 2019, Tuesday evening. Till now there is no response from the robot. So the Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of NASA's Science Mission Directorate told a news conference at mission headquarters in Pasadena, California, I declare the NASAs Opportunity mission as completed.

On Today (14th Feb 2019, Thursday), Chinese and US negotiators kicked off 2 days of high level talks that US President Donald Trump says could decide whether he escalates the bruising tariff battle between the world's 2 biggest economies. Donald Trump indicated this week, he was open to extending a trade truce beyond 1st March depending on progress in Beijing.

Bloomberg News reported says, an additional 60 days, he is considering pushing the deadline back. In December, Trump postponed plans to sharply hike tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese imports to allow more time for negotiation. Already, the 2 economic superpowers have imposed duties on over $360 billion in 2 way trade, which has weighed on their manufacturing sectors and shaken global financial markets.

NASA US space agency has released a new space telescope that would begin a 2 year mission in 2023 to look for life ingredients and probe how the universe evolved. The Epoch of Reionisation, Ices Explorer (SPHEREx) and Spectro-Photometer for the History of the Universe mission is planned 2 year mission, funded at $242 million and will survey the sky in optical as well as near infrared light.

NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said in a statement on Wednesday (13th February 2019), I'm really excited about this new mission.

On February 24, PM Modi to Launch Scheme Giving Rs. 6,000 to Farmers
A senior BJP leader said on Wednesday (13th February 2019), on February 24, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the PM-KISAN scheme of giving Rs. 6,000/- annual financial assistance to farmers which was announced in the interim budget.

BJP zonal vice president Stayendra Sinha said, that the first installment of Rs. 2,000/- will be credited in farmer's accounts by the PM at the recommended Kisan Maha Adhiveshan at Fertilizer ground in Gorakhpur. Mr Sinha, however, the number of farmers who will receive the money on the day of PM-KISAN scheme were launched did not give.

The eligible farmers will get a first installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on February 24.

PM Modi to Flag Off Vande Bharat Express in New Delhi On Friday
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said, that the India's first semi high speed train the "Vande Bharat Express" will be flagged off by PM Modi on Friday (15th February 2019) from the New Delhi railway station. The official said, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and the members of the Railway Board will be on board the train on it's inaugural journey.

The "Vande Bharat Express" will travel from Delhi to Varanasi in 9 hrs and 45 min. It includes the stoppage time of 40 min each at Allahabad and Kanpur where there will be special programmes. At the New Delhi railway station, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will review the facilities in the train and address a gathering on the occasion.

JSCA Stadium to Get MS Dhoni Pavilion
Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will reportedly be honored with a stand in his name at the JSCA (Jharkhand State Cricket Association) Stadium in Ranchi. According to the social media reports, the JCSA Stadium south stand will be named as "MS Dhoni Pavilion" and a placard has already been installed on the stadium.

The official reports have come just a few days before the BCCI will announced the limited overs squad for the upcoming series against Australia. MS Dhoni who had an excellent performance in ODI series against Australia and New Zealand, is likely to be included in the squad again. The 3rd ODI against Australia which will be played on 8th March, in Ranchi, which is Dhoni's hometown.

WWE Hall of Fame Pedro Morales Passed Away at 76
On Wednesday (13th February 2019), the WWE Hall of Fame Pedro Morales passed away at the age of 76, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. The Pedro dead news was confirmed by WWE on their website. The pro wrestling brand said in a statement on their website, that the WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Fame Pedro Morales has passed away.

In 1987 Pedro hung up his boots, but continued on as an ambassador for sports entertainment. Pedro Morales later became a commentator for both WWE's and WCW Spanish announce teams and in 1995, he was added into the WWE Hall of Fame. The WWE extends it's condolences to Pedro Morale's family, fans and friends.

On 14th February 2019 (Thursday), the 86th birth anniversary of actress Madhubala, fans flooded twitter with posts about the Mughal-e-Azam. On the legendary actress' Madhubala birth anniversary which coincides with Valentine's Day (Feb 14), some fans paid tributes by sharing her special picture collages and others posted stills from her classic movies.

In the fans tweets, they referred to Madhubala as the "most beautiful actress of Indian cinema" and also shared some priceless throwback pictures of Madhubala on social media. Each year on 14th February, the International Book Giving Day was takes places. The February 14th is all about sharing the love of books. International Book Giving Day is a 100% volunteer initiative aimed to increasing children's access and also enthusiasm for books.

Most of the children's in a developing countries do not own books. In the UK, 1/3rd of children do not own books. In US, 2/3rd of children living in poverty do not own books.
