India vs Australia Test Series: India Make a Historic Win Against Australia


India tour to Australia and playing 4 test series, 3 T20 series and 3 ODIs. In the recent test match on Monday (7th January 2019), a dominant India won their first ever test series against Australia in Australia by 2-1 after played the 4th and final test in Sydney. The 4th test were abandoned due to rain on final day (Jan 7, 2019). 

In the last day, Australia were still trailing by 316 runs and the match was called off as drawn. Finally, India's 71 year wait after wins in Melbourne and Adelaide is ending. It was the first time, India managed the feat since they starts touring Australia in 1947-48. Indian team captain Virat Kohli became the first Indian and first Asian captain to win a test series against Australia in Australia. 

India retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy and reinforced their status as world no. 1 team, after a historical win by 2-1. The winning captain Virat said, "I want to say I've never been more proud of being part of a team, than this one right here."



For Economically Weak in Upper Castes, 10% Quota in Govt Jobs Cleared


Just before the month of national election, the decision that comes the centre will move a constitutional amendment to enable 10% reservation in education and government jobs for economically weaker upper castes. 

A constitutional amendment bill is likely to be moved 8th January 2019, Tuesday. The official says, that the cabinet has approved a reservation quota in direct recruitment for admission in higher educational institutions.



To Remove Leprosy as Ground for Divorce, Lok Sabha Passes Bill


Today (7th January 2019), Lok Sabha was passed a bill to remove leprosy as a ground for divorce. Minister of State for Law PP Chaudhary, while replying to a discussion on the Personal Laws Bill, 2018, Leprosy is being removed as a ground for divorce. It is now a curable disease against the earlier comment of it being incurable. 

The bill to remove leprosy as a ground for divorce in 5 personal laws such as Dissolution of Muslim Marriages Act, Hindu Marriage Act, Divorce Act (for Christians), Hindu Adoptions, Maintenance Act and the Special Marriage Act. The amendment bill was passed by a voice vote.

On Sunday (6th January 2019), Indian football team defeated Thailand by 4-1 and start their AFC Asian Cup 2019 campaign on a brilliant note in Abu Dhabi. In an active footballer on the international arena, Indian football player Chhetri scored a goal in each half and in the process past over Argentine superstar Lionel Messi in the list of most goals scored.

Chhetri is now only behind Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo in this list. Cristiano Ronaldo - 85 (Portugal), Chhetri (India) - 67, Lionel Messi - 65 (Argentina). Chhetri’s heroics play helped India record their biggest win in AFC Asian Cup 2019 history.

After a crushing election victory destruction by deadly violence and claims of widely fraud, Sheikh Hasina was sworn in as Bangladesh's prime minister for a record 4 term today (7th Jan 2019, Monday). Sheikh was 71 and she has presided over record economic growth of 165 million people in the South Asian country.

Hasina ruling Awami League party and its minions won the 30th December 2018 elections by a landslide. Her party securing 288 seats in 300 seat parliament compared to just 7 for the main opposition. In the election day, 17 people were killed for a deadly violence and claims of widely fraud.
