National Pie Day is an annual celebration of pies which started in the mid of 1970s by Colorado nuclear engineer, Boulder, teacher Charlie Papazian and brewer, after he declared his own birthday as 23rd January to be National Pie Day.

Since 1986, the National Pie Day is sponsored by the American Pie Council. In 2014, the American Pie Council partnered with the Paramount Pictures to promoting the romantic thriller film "Labor Day" in conjunction with National Pie Day.

Sachin Tendulkar Launches Dipa Karmakar's Biography: "The Small Wonder"
On Tuesday (22nd January 2019), the legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar was launched the Dipa Karmakar's biography "The Small Wonder" in Mumbai.

The book, which comes with inputs from her coach Bishweshwar Nandi, chronicles the life of Karmakar from Agartala to becoming a world-famous gymnast, who finished fourth in the finals of the vault event at the Rio Olympics back in 2016.

In November 2018, Dipa Karmakar, 25 years claimed a bronze medal at the vault event on the 3rd day of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Cottbus, Germany.

Today (23rd January 2019, Wednesday), PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Subhas Chandra Bose museum at Red Fort to mark the leader's 122nd birth anniversary. Reported news agency Press Trust of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited the Yaad-e-Jalian Museum, which is the museum on the World War I and Jallianwala Bagh.

He also visit the Drishyakala Museum on Indian Art as well as Museum on 1857 India's first war of Independence at the same venue. On Subhas Chandra Bose museum and the Indian National Army showcases different art facts such as a wooden chair, medals, sword used by the leader, uniforms and badges.

Shami become the fastest 100th wicket taker after removed New Zealand opener Martin Guptill in his 1st over today.

After made the history, Shami overtake the previous record of left-arm swing bowler Irfan Pathan in 59 matches. Zaheer Khan (65 ODIs), Ajit Agarkar (67 ODIs) and Javagal Srinath (68 ODIs) complete the list of top 5 fastest bowlers from India to take 100 ODIs wickets.

Countdown Start Today for Launch of DRDO Satellite
An Indian space agency official said, on Thursday night, the countdown for the flight of an Indian rocket carrying the Microsat R imaging satellite of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Kalamsat student satellite will begin on Wednesday.

The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket launch countdown will start today (23rd January 2019, Wednesday). An official of the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) told IANS, the countdown duration and its starting time of rocket launch would be announced later.
