International Civil Aviation (ICA) is an annual observation day of United Nations (UN). Each and every year, the aviation day has been celebrated on 7th December and its officially declared by the UN in 1996.

The International Civil Aviation day is held to recognize the economic, social and development benefits of aviation and international air travel. The day is celebrated with aviation theme lectures, educational events, press and media releases and classroom events. This year (7th December 2018), the ICAO council established a special anniversary theme for International Civil Aviation Day (ICA).

A Senior Railway Ministry official told IANS, the Indian Railways has created a history by first ever conversion of diesel locomotive to electric traction with indigenous technology to almost double the power under Make in India.

An official said on 6th December 2018, this move is keeping the Railway's mission of 100% electrification and de-carbonization, Varanasi has converted a diesel locomotive to run an electric traction. The Railway authority said, this service is entered from December 3rd. In the world, this is the 1st time have converted an engine from diesel to electric.

The Defence Ministry said on 6th December 2018, the Chinese and Indian Military will be conduct a joint military exercise that will involve tactical level operation in an international counter insurgency environment.

The annual exercise will starts on 11th December and go on till 23rd December at Chengdu in China and its conducts as part of military diplomacy and interaction between the armies of China and India. The main motive of the exercise is to promote and build the close relations between both Indian and Chinese armies.

Centre Announces Rs. 3,048 Crore Flood Relief Fund for Kerala
In August 2018, Kerala were affected by massive floods. The official said, the additional assistance of Rs. 3048.39 Crore will be given to the state from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). Apart from this, Rs. 539.52 Cr will be given to cyclone hit state Andhra Pradesh and Rs. 131.16 Cr to Nagaland.

Today (7th December 2018), a High Level Committee has approved the additional assistance fund which is headed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

Those who attended the meeting include Agriculture Minister Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and senior officers of Finance, Agriculture and Ministries of Home Affairs.

Former National Champion Swimmer Arun Kumar Shaw Dies at 82
Arun Kumar Shaw who won 7 time national champion swimmer was died at 82 in Kolkata Thursday (6th December 2018) following durable disease. Arun Shaw was survived by his wife.

Arun Kumar Shaw was the 1st swimmer from the state to receive the Arjuna Award in 1967 and he bagged his maiden national championship in 1958. He won national championships in 1959, 1962, 1964, 1965 and 1967 and set a national records many times. He was also a national selector for several years.

In Telangana state, voting is underway in a three way battle between BJP, Congress led alliance (TDP, TJS and CPI) and the TRS on Today (7th December 2018).

The Badminton player Jwala Gutta said that she failed to cast her vote in the ongoing assemble election, her name was missing from the voter's list. In twitter, the shuttler wrote she was surprised to see her name was disappear from the list.
