ODI Player Of The Year and ICC Women Cricketer Of 2018: Smriti Mandhana
The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award for the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year 2018 was named by Smriti Mandhana. On Monday (31st December 2018), the ICC announced, Smriti Mandhana was also named the player of the year in women's ODI. 

From January 1st, 2018 to December 31st, 2018, the Smriti Mandhana, 22 year old, who has also been named in the T20 International teams and ICC women's One day Internationals for 2018, 622 runs at a strike rate of 130.67 in 25 T20s and scored 669 runs at an average of 66.90 in 12 ODIs during the voting period. 

She was becomes the only second India women player to won ICC award after fast bowler Jhulan Goswami in 2007 (won the distinction).

Today (31st December 2018), the Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri and Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia was flagged off the Lajpat Nagar to Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 corridor of the Delhi Metro at Metro Bhawan Auditorium. 

The 9.7 km stretch along the Delhi Metro's pink line will be operational for passengers from 04:00 pm today (December 31, 2018). This new segment is part of the 59 km long pink line which spans from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar at a peak hour frequency of five minutes and 12 sec and non-peak will be 5 min & 45 sec. Officials said, It was directly connects south and east Delhi and total 29 trains will be operational on this line.

On Dark Side of the Moon, China Probe is Ready to Land
The official Xinhua news agency reported on Sunday (30th December 2018), A Chinese space probe is moving into the position to land on the dark side of the moon for the first time. This mission was seen as an important step as the country looks to push forward its space programme.

The news agency said, that the probe and Chang'e-4 entered a planned orbit on Sunday (30/12/2018) to prepare for the first ever soft landing on the far side of the moon. It didn't say when the landing would occur. China was launched the Chang'e-4 probe earlier on this month which carried by a Long March-3B rocket and It includes a lander and a rover to explore the surface of the moon.
