Home Ministry order said on Wednesday (26th December 2018), the government has banned KLF (Khalistan Liberation Force) for its involvement in bombings, several killings and other terror activities during violent campaign for partition of Punjab. The decision to ban comes under the Illegal activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in the backdrop of agencies unearthing several KLF modules in recent months. 

It has led to the question raised that it is attempting to revive militancy in the state. According to official's, in 1980s & 1990s during the height of militancy in Punjab, the group was involved in a series of illegal activities.

Sources said on Thursday (27th December 2018), In January 2019, the Train 18 India's fastest train will begin operations at a curtailed speed of 130 kmph. At trials, the train 18 breached the 180 kmph mark. It which is set to replace the Shatabdi series which has the potential to run between 160 kmph to 200 kmph. 

After the report of the CCRS (Chief Commissioner Railway Safety) is approved by the board, the Train 18 will expected to run in January 2019. The official source said, the report has suggested several conditions which need to be met before we can run the train 18 at 130 kmph. The train 18 will flag off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

India Announces Rs. 4500 Cr Assistance to Bhutan For its Five Year Plan
On Friday (28th December 2018), PM Narendra Modi announced a Rs. 4500 Cr financial assistance to Bhutan for its 12th 5 year plan after holding wide ranging talks with his Bhutanese counterpart Lotay Tshering. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, that the hydro power cooperation with Bhutan is a key aspect of bilateral ties and that will work on the Mangdechhu project will soon be completed. 

On Thursday (27th Dec 2018), Prime Minister Tshering arrived in New Delhi on Thursday on his first foreign visit after taking charge as the PM of Bhutan last month following his party's victory in the general elections.

For NCERT Curriculum from Next Session, Tripura Cabinet Approves Proposal
To introduce the NCERT curriculum in all state government and aided schools from the next academic session, the Tripura Cabinet has given its nod to a proposal and its beginning April 2019. After the Cabinet meeting on Thursday (27th December 2018), Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath told to reporters, that the Department of Education (DoE) has initiated the process to introduce the NCERT curriculum to replace the existing one prescribed by the State Council of Educational Research and Training. 

The minister said, that the department has already procured over two lakh new books and 64,000 books will soon reach the state. He said, the change in curriculum will take the state's education system into the national level.

Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad announced this evening (28th Dec 2018), the Union Cabinet has approved a budget of Rs. 10000 Cr for sending 3 Indian astronauts to space for 7 days by 2022. The rave project named "Gaganyaan", will help India become the 4th nation to send man to space. 

On India's 72nd Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announce the Gaganyaan project and it was his 5th and final address ahead of the next general elections. Chairman of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) Dr K Sivan said, it was a "very, very tight schedule but ISRO will do it by 2022".
