To mark a year of BJP government in the state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set for his visit to Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. To highlight the achievements of the BJP government in Himachal Pradesh, PM Modi will release a document.

He will also interact with the beneficiaries of various schemes introduced by the BJP government. Prime Minister Modi will also address a public rally Jan Aabhar Rally in Dharamshala.

To Check for Faults in Trains, Railways Develops Robot "USTAAD"
In New Delhi, Central Railway has developed an AI powered robot to make trains more safe by eliminating human errors. The robot would record videos and take pictures of under gears of trains and send them to engineers for maintenance and repair.

The mechanical branch of Central Railway's Nagpur division has developed the robot and named as USTAAD (Under-gear Surveillance Through Artificial Intelligence Assisted Droid). The robot which examines parts of the coach in real time with a High Definition camera and transmits over Wifi.

The railway engineers can see the video's on big screen as well as record them.

According to Government notification, 2 Congress parliamentarians and 3 Lok Sabha members who were elected on the BJP's ticket have resigned from the lower house after being elected as legislators in state assemblies. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has accepted the all 5 parliamentarians resignations. 

After elected as lawmakers during the recently held assembly polls in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh respectively, 2 Congress leaders Tamradhwaj Sahu and Raghu Sharma was resigned. Other 2 BJP lawmakers Nagendra Singh and Manohar Untwal both from Madhya Pradesh, resigned after being elected as MLAs in the state assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh.

China Successfully Tests Russia's S400 Missile Air Defence System
The advanced S-400 air defence system which is imported from Russia has successfully tested by China, for which India also signed up recently despite concerns over threat of sanctions from the United State. After received the last shipments of the weaponry from Russia under a $3 billion contract signed in July 2015, It was the first time the PLA (People's Liberation Army) tested the system. 

On Thursday (27th December 2018), China's PLA Rocket Force last month tested the S400 Triumf air defence system successfully shooting down a simulated ballistic target, which is almost 250 kilometer away and moving at the supersonic speed of 3 kilometer per second. S-400 is a Russia's most advanced long range surface to air missile defence system. Details of the tested location have not been disclosed. India has also signed a $5 billion deal with Russia to buy the same system in October this year.

A senior BJP leader said on Thursday (27th December 2018), On January 6, 2019 PM Narendra Modi will arrive at Pathanamthitta in Kerala to begin the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. Prime Minister Modi's arrival in Pathanamthitta (district where the Sabarimala temple is located) is seen as a deft political move.

Mr Pillai said, that this visit is a part of the election campaign and he flies to Pathanamthitta from Guntur. The BJP party has only one legislator in the 140 member Kerala Assembly and the party is hopeful of putting up a good show in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

To Combat Air Pollution, Delhi Govt Starts Trails of Olectra BYD eBuzz K9 Electric Bus
Over past week, the air quality in Delhi NCR has been worst and the state government is taking steps to restrict the worsening air pollution. Towards the positive steps, Today (27th Dec 2018) the Delhi government has initiated the trials of noise free and zero emission electric buses in the capital.

Olectra BYD's 12 metre electric bus eBuzz K9 was made in India, has 35 member seating capacity along with the driver and it will be used for trail today (Thursday, Dec 27, 2018). For next 3 months, the electric bus will run on the Delhi roads. The authorities have an opportunity to evaluate the competency and efficiency of the electric buses in the standard road conditions of the NCR.
