Christmas is an annual festival, in memory the birth of Jesus Christ. Importantly was observed on December 25 as a cultural and religious celebration among billions of people around the world. In many of the world's nations, Christmas Day is a public holiday. 

Although the month & date of Jesus birth are unknown, by the early to mid 4th century the Western Christian Church had fixed the date of Christmas as 25th December, a date that was later adopted in the East. "Christmas" is a shortened form of "Christ's mass" and it is derived from the Middle English 'Cristemasse'.

On Vajpayee's 94th birth anniversary today (25th December 2018), Sadaiv Atal, a memorial of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee was dedicated to the nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu were among the dignitaries who paid flower tributes to the former PM Vajpayee at the memorial built near the Rashtriya Smriti Sthal, where his funeral took place on 17th August 2018. 

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was died on 16th August 2018, after a prolonged illness. Former prime minister Manmohan Singh and family members of Vajpayee also offered tributes at the lotus shaped memorial. Today (25th December 2018, Tuesday), PM Modi tweeted, "Tributes to Atal Ji on his Jayanti. We reiterate our commitment towards creating the India he dream of".

On Today (25th December 2018, Tuesday), Iran's President Hassan Rouhani presented a state budget of 4700 trillion rials to parliament, saying US sanctions would affect Iranians economic growth and lives but not bring the government to its knees. 

Rouhani told parliament in a speech which carried live on state television, "America's goal is to bring Iran Islamic system to its knees and it will fail in this, but sanctions will no doubt affect people lives and economic growth and the country's development".

Rouhani gave the value of the draft budget at about 4700 trillion rials for the next Iranian year which starts on 21st March 2019. Under the unofficial exchange rate the budget is equal to about $47 billion.

On Monday (24th December 2018), an Union Commerce and Industry Minister, Suresh Prabhu inaugurated the Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) campus at Bihar in Patna District. In order to promote the "Efficiency and Innovation" in leather industry, he announced that the "Centre of Excellence" will be set up at a cost of Rs. 14 Cr in the campus. 

Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi said, for setting up of the FDDI campus, the state government had provided 10 acres of land free of cost. The FDDI campus was built at a cost of Rs. 115.95 Cr.

MD and CEO of Corporation Bank, P V Bharathi Appointed
On 24th December 2018, P V Bharathi has been appointed as managing director and chief executive officer of Corporation Bank, after the order issued by the Personnel Ministry. She is currently working as the Executive Director in the Canara Bank. P. V. Bharathi will take charge after February 01, 2019 and continue in the post till 31st March 2020.

On the same day (Dec 24, 2018), the ministry has also released another order as per which, Balakrishna Alse S and Birupaksha Mishra have been appointed as executive director in the Corporation Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce respectively. K. Ramachandran has also appointed as executive director of the Allahabad Bank.

On December 24, 2018, the 55th anniversary of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) was held in New Delhi. The chief guest Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju witnessed the raising day parade along with delegates from Bhutan and Nepal on the occasion.

In the function Kiren Rijiju said, to a border guarding duty, SSB is also playing important role in some major activities such as perception management, civic action and skill development programmes. Kiren Rijiju also spoke on the contribution of SSB in disaster management operations with two battalions serving in NDRF (National Disaster Response Force).

In Madhya Pradesh, 28 Lawmakers Take Oath as Kamal Nath Expands Cabinet
On 25th December 2018, Tuesday, Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath expanded his Cabinet with 28 MLA's including 2 woman legislators, sworn in as ministers. At the Raj Bhavan in Bhopal, Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath to the new ministers. Vijayalaxmi Sadho, Sajjan Singh Verma, Hukum Singh Karada, Bala Bachchan, Govind Singh Rajput, Arif Akil, Imarti Devi, Pradeep Jayaswal were among those sworn in as ministers.

After Congress won the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, defeating the BJP in a nail biting contest, senior Congress leader and former Union minister Kamal Nath had taken oath as the chief minister on 17th December 2018. The Congress returned to power in the MP state after a hiatus of 15 years.
